We are thrilled to welcome you to our new website! As of this month, the monthly Our Hands Can Picture Project will be published here.

The Holidays. That was the theme for the Picture Project in December. We received some wonderful submissions that really helped bring the spirit of the holidays to our Facebook page!

Michelle made us hungry when she posted a photo of her baking Christmas cookies, saying “For me, an important part the holiday season is the food! They may be stiff and slow, but my hands can still make my family’s favorite cookies.” They look very yummy. Thanks for sharing this photo, Michelle.

April posted this wonderful photo, saying “Yesterday, my hands and I did the Santa Hustle at Cedar Point. It was too soon after gall bladder surgery, and I caved after 7 miles, but I made it 7 miles AND was smart enough to listen to my body for a change and not push it too far. NEXT year, I’m finishing!!! Going for the Bling!” That’s amazing, April! We can’t wait to see the bling.

We’d also like to thank Emma for her beautiful video of her playing a carol on the harp. Here she describes the video: “i usually play piano, but over the last year i have been learning the harp as its much easier for me to play, i don’t have to stretch my hands out so far when i’m in a flare, i can’t fully open my left hand as its clawed, but grateful for the thumb and index finger that still allows me to play piano and harp, and thankful my right hand hasn’t clawed i have RA and osteoporosis. here is a harp cover of the christmas carol O come O come Emmanuel, hope you all have a lovely christmas and new year.” We love to watch the videos of you playing, Emma. Thank you for sharing them with us! We encourage all of you to visit our Facebook page to see Emma’s talent for yourself.

And now for the December winner! Congratulations to our winner Nudge Nudge for her beautiful photo with this caption: “Anything and everything blue makes me happy. My hands automatically runs towards anything blue. For this holiday lets ‪#‎goblueforarthritis. Be happy with what they can do, they are proof of our strength.” Congratulations! Please contact us at infoATsuyhDOTorg with your name and address and we’ll make sure your calendar gets on its way.
